Going on a winery or brewery tour in Connecticut is a great way to enjoy a fun and educational experience while discovering new flavors. Here are the best wineries and breweries in Connecticut that offer tours and tastings.

Jones Family Farms, Shelton CT

Opened in 1999, Jones Family Farms is one of the best in Connecticut with excellent vineyards that are now making over 20 wines of distinction.

When you first arrive, it is recommended to visit the historic tasting room. The space offers educational wine tastings of seven different vintages. The knowledgeable staff members will guide you through the tastings, and they are happy to answer any questions you may have.

The tastings are $16.95 a person, and there is no reservation needed. Visitors will also receive a complimentary wine glass.

The winery also has a variety of light food options to choose from, including cheese and charcuterie plates or their farm made hummus.

Jones Winery also provides live music Fridays 4:30-6:30 pm and Sundays 2-4 pm.

The June hours are Thursday through Friday from 12pm-6pm. Weekend hours are Saturday through Sunday from 11am-6pm.

Gouveia Vineyards, Wallingford CT

Joe Gouveia moved from Portugal to New Haven at a young age with a dream of starting a winery.  Soon after, he opened the doors of Gouveia Vineyards in 2004. Gouveia offers nine different white wines ranging from full bodied wine with oak and vanilla flavors to wine that is light, fruity, and crisp!

When you visit, make sure to order one of their wine flights, which allows you to choose any five wines to sample and bring home an etched souvenir glass!

This vineyard has live music every Friday 5-8 and Sunday 2-5pm. Call or check their social media for the calendar of local musicians with free admission.

Gouveia Vineyards is open Monday through Saturday from 11-8 and Sunday 11-6.

Tribus Beer Co, Milford CT

Opened in 2018, this brewery is Milford, Connecticut’s first brewery and taproom. Tribus offers a variety of special events throughout the week, including Trivia and Jazz Music nights. There is always something different to check out at this spot!

Tribus has a long list of tap beers to choose from. The brewery also serves food, wine, and cocktails if you are not in the mood for a beer.

They are open Monday 8:30pm to 11pm and Tuesday 5pm to 9pm. On Wednesday through Thursday, Tribus is open 5pm to 10pm. Friday and Saturday hours are 12pm to 10 pm and Sunday 12pm to 7pm.
