We get it. Some people want to take time this winter to complete interior updates on their home before listing. Others are just starting to consider selling and need the time to prepare for the spring market.
But what about the rest of the people who plan to sell in 2019?
Why wait until spring?
We’ve heard the reasoning before: the spring market is the best time to sell. There are more homes listed and sold during spring.
And we won’t disagree with you there. More people do list their homes during the spring market. That is inevitable.
But if you wait until spring just because everyone else is doing it, you may be missing out on the market right NOW.
2019 Winter Market Statistics
Here at One + Company, we have already seen the market pick up since the start of 2019. In January alone, we had five of our clients closed on a home, while 10 others went under contract.
Now, let’s take a look at what has been happening across Connecticut. The William Raveis sold search uses the MLS database to find all homes sold in Connecticut. We looked at the data for the past two weeks in each Connecticut county. Here is what has been happening throughout Connecticut the past two weeks:
Homes Sold in Connecticut
Homes Sold Last Week
(January 27-February 3, 2019)
Homes Sold Last 2 Weeks
(January 20 – February 3, 2019)
|New London County||51||85|
|New Haven County||100+||100+|
With the market full of serious buyers and less inventory on the MLS, houses are selling right now.
